Apprentices are cats who live in a Clan, and are learning how to fight and hunt to become a warrior. Kits must be at least 6 moons old to begin their training. Apprentices can be trained by a Leader, Warriors, or a Deputy (this is their mentor) An Apprentice do duties, such as searching the elders for ticks, and if they get in trouble, the are punished, usually the punishment is selected by their mentor. apprentices usually train for three or more moons before they are given their warrior name. In some cases, a kit chooses the path of a medicine cat, and learns the skills of healing from the current medicine cat at that time. These apprentices do not sleep in the same den as warrior apprentices.
